Utamu wa ushindi. Madrid walipowalaza Barca
Cristiano Ronaldo's extra-time header gave Jose Mourinho his first trophy as Real Madrid coach as his side beat Barcelona 1-0 to win the Copa del Rey. A foul-ridden encounter was decided in the first period of extra-time when Ronaldo powered in his 42nd of the season from Angel di Maria's cross. Real had Iker Casillas to thank after the keeper denied Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta with brilliant saves. Di Maria received a second yellow deep into extra-time but Real held on.
HOWEVER:
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos dropped the Copa del Rey from the top of the team bus during celebrations after their 1-0 victory over Barcelona on Wednesday. The bus then ran over the trophy leaving emergency services to gather up the broken pieces and return them to the bus. The trophy did not reappear at the club's traditional celebration spot of the Plaza de Cibeles in central Madrid. (Associated Press)
