UPDATES FOR MZUMBE GRADUATION

NOTICE TO ALL POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS INTENDING TO GRADUATE THIS YEAR 2010

All postgraduate students expecting to graduate this year (2010) are notified that:

• Dissertations/theses submitted for internal and external examination after 31st October 2010 will not be processed for this year’s graduation.

• Oral defense for qualified dissertations/theses will take place from 16th – 24th November, 2010

• Error free dissertations/theses should be submitted to the respective Faculties/Directorates by 30th November 2010 (at 3.30p.m, at the latest)

• It is important to adhere to this schedule in order to allow the University time to process names for graduation.

9TH GRADUATION CEREMONY

Mzumbe University will hold its 9TH Graduation Ceremony on Friday, 17th December 2010 at the Main Campus starting at 1.00pm. The Graduation Ceremony for Dar es Salaam Business School will be on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at PTA Hall, Sabasaba grounds in Dar es Salaam starting from1.00pm.
The Chancellor of Mzumbe University, Hon. Chief Justice (Rtd.) Barnabas Samatta will officiate the Ceremony at which candidates who successfully completed their Degree/Diploma/Certificate programmes during the 2009/2010 Academic Year will be Conferred.
Graduation rehearsals will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Main Campus starting from 2.00pm. For the Dar es Salaam Business School graduation rehearsals will be on Saturday, December 17, 2010 at PTA Hall, Sabasaba grounds Dar es Salaam starting from9.00 am.  
NOTE THAT:

• Only those who participate in the rehearsal will attend the Conferring Ceremony.
• Graduands have to meet their travel, meals and accommodation expenses during the rehearsal and

       Graduation Ceremony.
The Graduation Ceremony will be preceded by the 9TH Convocation Meeting on Thursday, December 16th 2010 starting at 10.00am at the Main Campus.  All former Institute of Development Management (IDM) and Mzumbe University graduates are cordially invited.
A Prize giving Ceremony to students and members of Academic Staff with outstanding performance during the year will follow after the Convocation Meeting on 16th December, 2010.
Graduation Gowns will be available on hire starting from Monday, December 13, 2010 to Thursday December 16, 2010 at their respective campuses. Hiring cost is Tshs. 35,000/=  of which Tshs. 10,000/= will be paid back upon return of the gown in good condition.
