Barcelona went five points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga standings after defeating Levante 2-1. Pedro's brace had the Blaugrana sitting pretty until a goal out of nothing by Stuani for the visitors in the late stages added some tension, nonetheless the clash ended with three points for Barca...

What's The Mata?
Ten-man Valencia looked destined for a draw with Espanyol at the Mestalla, but an injury time goal from Juan Mata ensured they won 2-1 and gathered all three points. Aduriz was sent with 30 minutes remaining, but Mata's late heroics were the main talking point as there was suspicion of offside.

Drama At The Bridge
Late goals from Didier Drogba and John Terry appeared to have rescued Chelsea from suffering an embarrassing defeat to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge as they were leading 3-2 deep into injury time, but Ciaran Clark headed home to end the game in a 3-3 draw and help the visitors to a point.

Wigan were unable to extend their unbeaten run at home after falling 1-0 to Newcastle, courtesy of a strike from Shola Ameobi.

Home side manager Roberto Martinez was forced into making one change from the side that drew with Arsenal as Charles N'Zogbia started the first game of his three game suspension so Jordi Gomez was recalled to the starting line-up.
