MARRIAGE SERIES: Is it love or infatuation (Mnapendana au kamba?)

HOW TO TELL IF YOU ARE REALLY IN LOVE

Introduction (takwimu zinaongea ukweli)
According to recent studies in Europe and America, most people will have from seven to ten romances in a life time. (unaona wengi? Wengine huku Bongo wanafika hata mia! Maisha yote kwa waswahili si mchezo) one survey found that the average college student will have experienced infatuation six to seven times and love once or twice.

The question is how you can tell for sure if you are really in love or if it is just infatuation. (Infatuation is defined as very strong feelings of love or attraction for somebody or something, especially when these are unreasonable and do not last long. Love is defined as a strong feeling of affection for somebody that you are sexually attracted to and normally the last longer or they are for life time.)

Doubts about love and infatuation
If you are typically a young person, chances are you think you are in love with you partner. One research asked 500 young women at colleges if they felt they were in love right at that moment. 72% said they were while only 27 said they were not! While most youth think that they are in love, many express real doubts about it. People are unsure whether they are in love. Utata mtupu.

In another study a researcher asked a group of college students if they felt they knew what love really was! The answers were as follows:

Response (answers)
Males %
Females %
I am sure I know what love is
25
36
I think I know what love is
59
54
I don’t think I know what love is
12
8
I am sure I don’t know what love is
4
2

The findings above tell us that about 75% of the men and 66% of women were not sure they understood love. It also found that students thought of their current romantic involvements as love.

In another study on the courtship pattern of 400 college students discovered that almost 75% of the reported love affairs broke up before marriage. Such studies help us to understand that there is a tremendous confusion when it comes to telling about true love. Ni uongo uongo uongo na kudanganyana!

Facts about you love among youth
1.  Love at first sight is possible between some people. Suprisingly this is the most common of all!

2.  premarital sex is acceptable when a couple cares a lot about each other. (kikanisa hili halikubaliki lakini ukweli wa mambo ndiyo huo. Ndiyo maana vijana siku hizi wanaonja kwanza ndiyo wafunge ndoa)

3.  God has created and chosen one special person for you and through prayers and searching you will be guided to this person.

Take care and see you next time. (itaendelea kesho)
